Up for auction is a 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics 30 Yuan Coin with Velvet Box This coin depicts a figure skater and has a face value of 30 CNY (Yuan) Take a look at this rare coin from the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. This is a single coin in a velvet square blue case (see photos) with an encaptulated coin depicting a figure skater. Based on what I could find, this appears to be one of four coins minted by the People's Republic of China in 1980. The China Mint pressed a piedfort set of 4 coins that represented Biathalon, Speed Skating, Downhill Skiing and Figure Skating. This is just a single coin for Figure Skating in a single velvet case. This coin has a 30 CNY (Yuan) denomination. The obverse has a figure skater, 1980 Lake Placid and Chinese writing as well as the Olympic logo. The reverse has what appears to be the insignia for the People's Rublic of China and 30 that represents 30 CNY as well as the 5 olympic rings. This is a very nice and rare coin. Weight of the coin encapsulated is about 20 grams. No COA is included but take a look at the photos and judge for yourself. Don't miss out on this! BID T ODAY!
