This just in - too late for Christmas! Here is a 1981 Rooster, the Sterling silver version. He is highly detailed on the front, and flat on the back. The rooster is hallmarked: "Rooster, Christmas 1981, American Heritage Collection, Kirk Stiefe Sterling." The ornament is 3 inches tall and approximately 2 1/2 inches wide at the widest point. Includes the original box (marked: "GORHAM", see below) and pouch. Some tarnish on the front. Probably never used but may have been displayed for Christmas. The pictures do not show the the brightness that actually exists on the piece. My camera and scanner did not do justice to the rooster. Or was it my skill?Gorham made all the American Heritage ornaments up to 1981. That year, American Heritage chose Kirk Stieff as their silversmith, returning to Gorham in 1982. This is the only year Kirk Stieff produced roosters thus this is a very rare find for your Christmas ornament collection.
