1983 UK proof 22 carat gold sovereign weighing 7.99 grammes and measuring 22.05 mm in diameter. The reverse design, created by Benedetto Pistrucci, depicts the classic betrayal of St George on horseback slaying the dragon. The obverse design depicts the fine Arnold Machin portrait of Queen Elizabeth es in a small presentation box with descriptive leaflet. See my other auctions for more proof coins, etc.
