Fenton announced i n August 2007, that the 102-year-old Fenton Art Glass Company would "cease its operations over the next few months", in a recent announcement on the website, he said "we're all hopeful that our company will be able to continue. Since our initial announcement last August, we have processed many orders for our 2007 products and received tremendous support from both collectors and dealers." If you're familiar with Fenton art glass, you know the company produces beautiful decorative glass pieces hand blown or molded and hand painted in their factory in Williamstown , West Virginia . Highly collectible, Fenton art glass has always been known for delicate hand painted patterns and beautiful glass colors. This is a wonderful older Fenton piece called "Day Dreaming Bear". She's reclining on her stomach, with her head resting on her front paws. It's an outstanding example of the beauty of Fenton glass. The black carnival glass bear ranges in color from green to blue to purple to gold as the light plays on the irridescent surface. It's hand decorated with pale leaves and flowers with 3-D yellow centers. It's signed on the bottom by the artist: "Hand Painted by P. Fleak".
