1993 Dalzell Heisey Crystal Glass Biscayne Blue Oscar Sparky Plug Horse The Heisey factory was in business from 1896 through 1957. The Imperial Glass Corporation of Bellaire, Ohio, bought the existing molds from Heisey in 1958. Imperial Glass went out of business in 1984 and all of its assets were sold by liquidation in 1985. The Heisey Collectors of America organization was fortunate to be able to purchase most of the existing Heisey molds formerly in the possession of Imperial. HCA does make some limited quantity special edition items for their members, but these pieces always have an HCA mark, which includes the year of reproduction. And to further prevent them from being confused with older glass, the color chosen for a limited edition piece is never one originally used by A.H. Heisey & Co. when the company first made the item.
