19C ENGLISH LIVE STEAM 2-2-2 TYPE BRASS LOCOMOTIVE I have purchased a small but interesting collection of antique scientific instruments. These instruments are mostly 19th century. They will be listed on eBay over the next few days. All will be sold to the highest bidder without reserve. Please see my other listings for the rest of these instruments. This listing is for a English 19th century live steam locomotive. The locomotive measures 14 inches or 36 cm from bumper to fill cap. This 2-2-2 type locomotive model is 3 1/2 inch gauge. The English call this 2-2-2 wheel arrangement a Single type. The boiler measures 9 inches or 23 cm. The boiler is copper. Most of the other fittings either brass or bronze. In front of the pistons the bumper support is wood. Under the boiler sits a 4 wick burner and tank for firing up the boiler. I have not fired this engine as I do not have the right fuel. I believe it will work fine however as the pistons and wheels turn freely and everything seems to be in place. The model is very precise and detailed. The condition overall is excellent. The copper and brass have toned somewhat due to age. Please see photos for more on the look and functionality of this beautiful model. T is no reserve.
