Shipping is OPTIONAL. This item May be picked up in Keene, New Hampshire. Please carefully read my description and check out the photos BEFORE asking questions or bidding. This English teapot from the Staffordshire region depicting Mount Vernon, the seat of the late George Washington in blue and white transfer was made in the early 19th century, probably between 1800 and 1815, shortly after the death of our first President. The detailed appraisal below the photos was produced before this extraordinary item was professionally restored subsequent to an accident in which the spout had been broken from the body. Photos include the item before the restoration as well as detailed photos of it now, after completion of the restoration, including closeups of the repaired regions showing the exterior and interior. This item is available for examination prior to bidding and I can furnish even higher resolution images by email to serious interested parties. (They're about 4megs each so I can't email too many.) It goes on the auction block with an opening bid of only half its appraised after-restoration value and no reserve so bidding should be brisk. Please be patient for wonderful photos to download. It'll be worth the wait.Shipping is quoted to lower 48 state destinations, but, as always in my auctions, you are welcome to pick it up in Keene, read more
