Late 19th century embroidered Chinese altar cloth. Lovely satin stitch embroidery thruout with additional forbidden stitch roundels. Five toed dragon with pearl and other auspicious symbols, all on a medium indigo blue silk ground with brown damask border and backed in ivory cotton. Only in fair condition with numerous areas of horizontal split and fray to background silk and loose couching on dragons, sold with no reserve! Measures 70" long and 17.5" wide.
