for your bidding consideration is this Maine New England mid to late 19thc wooden childs sled. This sled may perhaps be a very early unsigned So.Paris MFG sled, I do know alot of the very early pieces were not stamped with the Paris MFG makers mark. Earlier pieces mantained a copper or brass makers metal label which I do not see on this sled, perhaps it did have one & now is lost. This sled is a great small size for displaying in your home or wall hanging as it has been in my home for years measuring 32"long, 11 14"wide & 3 1/2"deep at the rails. T are 3 round wooden supports underneath that have 8 beveled or turned sides, the rails appear to be oak, the body is put together using pegs, although the top seat is nailed to the supports. The aged patina on this early american country primitive childs sled is absolutely wonderful. This piece has never been touched & remains in it's original painted red yet worn condition with lots & lots of fantastic ware from being used over & over through the years. The photos really do speak for themselves as this piece is quite a primitive charmer. Please email with any questions prior to bidding as the item is being sold as seen.
