The main relic of the manger venerated in Saint Mary Major Basilica, Rome, (The pope's titular church)This is an incredibly rare multi reliquary containing three first class relics of our Lord Jesus Christ nativity in Bethlehem.The 3 relics are-EX CUNA, (cunaearum) from the cradleboard of Jesus, (this is also a relic of the Virgin Mary because she carried it, and of Saint Joseph because he made it).-EX PRAESEP, (praesepis) the manger Jesus was laid in.-EX FAEN, (faenum), from the hay Jesus laid on in the manger.The bottom label. Reads J.C.N.S. French for Jesus Christ Our Lord Jesus Christ Norte Seigneur.The reliquary measures 1 3/4" X 1 1/4".The wax seal and red silk threads are perfect and intact, ensuring the authenticity of the relics. There is a back cover to protect the seal and threads. Dates circa1820-30, France.This relic was obtained from the estate of a beloved French Archbishop who was well known for his private relic and reliquary collection.
