Now, I would like to present the most interesting and traditional of Uzbek pillow-slips to you. These are handmade embroidered pillow-slips from Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The foundation of embroidery is silk-cotton fabric called "adras". These pillow-slips have a beautiful Floral design. The pattern of embroidery is composed of beautiful floral motifs and pomegranate fruit. Pomegranate is a symbol of fertility because of multiple seeds. The borders of the pillow-slips is edged with embroidered wavy sprouts with charming multicolored small flowers with leaves.
