2006 COOK ISLANDS 1oz 99.9% SILVER FIRE ENGINE COIN Minted by the Perth Mint, this 99.9% fine silver $1 coin weighs 31.135g. The fire engine on the reverse is the 1923 Garford Type 15 Pumper. The New South Wales Fire Brigades constructed 49 of these light pumpers on Garford Type 15 truck chassis fitted with Hale Type BB rotary gear pumps, for use in Australian country towns. They entered service between 1922 and 1925, and the last unit was withdrawn in 1968. The mintage is limited to just 5,000 coins.
