One Troy ounce pure (.999) silver 2006 Liberty Dollar, $20 face value. New Hampshire SMI type. Stamped with state outline and the letters "NH" inside. This hallmark was done by hand by the founder of the Liberty Dollar, Bernard von NotHaus. 100 exist worldwide. Only select first day of issue were hallmarked.New Hampshire was the concept state for the State Monetary Initiative (SMI) series. At the time, there was legislation considered that would have legitimized silver as money within the state. The one ounce Liberty Dollar is the "flagship" size, used since 1998. It is intentionally large and impressive.Condition is Brilliant Uncirculated, hard plastic airtite capsule included. Airtites may be the best long term storage option. This is not a coin or government money or legal tender. Your right to use it as money is being denied by the government at this time through the recent Federal trial and subsequent conviction of Bernard von NotHaus. Real silver Liberty Dollars were a point in history where intrinsic value money tried to make a comeback through private enterprise. Makes a nice collectible symbol of the "Freedom Movement".Shipping $2.99 to the USA.
