They swallow their pride, and grabbed the best deal they can to fill the missing spaces in their collections. Of the 100,000 5 coin sets produced for this set, less than 35,000 sets ever made it into the hands of individual collectors, the majority were snatched by internet coin Dealers and profiteers. To date nearly 40% of all 25 th Anniversary Sets have been taken out of their US Mint shipping cartons, and the coins will never make it to a third-party certification as a full 25 th Anniversary Set. In a recent article by US numismatic societies, it was estimated that by the end of the next 2 years the 2011 25 th Anniversary Silver Eagle Set will be among the most expensive Silver Eagles to be had.
