25Cent May 1, 1864 The State of Mississippi . Printed in Augusta, GA by J.T. Paterson & Co.Description: Obverse: When held up to light, no tears, body cancellations or pinholes are present. Folds are very low reliefwith no paper separation or scuffing with none of the runs across the note producing indentations on the margins. Note was cut uneven from the sheet but the bottom looks torn from the sheet rather than cut. The other sides lack indentations and push-ins and are straight. All explanations, lettering, titles and numbers are complete in form, detailed and sharp. This holds for the signature, date and serial number. This also holds for the scrolling and ornamentation . Coloration in red, 25 Cts, still is complete in outline and from within, while still retaining much of its original vivid character when printed. Some very light discoloration, possibly from past mounting adhesive place on the reverse , penetrated the obverse and is visible in the center of the note. It doesn't seriously detract from the quality, however, should be mentioned. Otherwise, the note body lacks major staining, blemishes or scuffing appearing to be clear and clear overall appearance.
