Note number in brackets in auction title is simply my inventory number. This clump of coins was excavated from a Shipwreck in the South China Sea. Shipwreck itself is not identifiable but was probably a merchant ship than ran into trouble in route. The shipwreck also cannot be decisively dated but you would expect that the cargo of coins could be spent or they wouldn't have bothered carrying them so I would expect that the ship sank around nine hundred years ago when this coin would have have monetary value and could be spent. Certainly during the Song Era but the wreck contained coins dating over several hundred years and there is an occasional pre song era coin found on the wreck. Clump of coins contains Corrosion and sediments as a result of being underwater for hundreds of years and this is a part of the weight of the clump. The last coins found on the wreck was in the early 1100s and most date in the 1000s with a few earlier. Excellent coin for either a coin or shipwreck artifact collector. See my other extensive selection of shipwreck coins on ebay also. All my coins guaranteed genuine. Buyer adds $5.50 shipping. I will combine items to reduce overall shipping costs but please pay within seven days of winning your first item. I don't overcharge for postage so I don't add a per coin amount as postage is by weight. I can read more
