Virginia Manufactory Cavalry Saber with Scabbard. The condition of this piece is exceptional for the age.The Virginia Manufactory of Arms produced three types of these swords from 1804-1821 for the State of Virginia Calvary, with slight variations of each.This is either a cut down 2nd model or a 3rd model which was originally 36" long with a "slight" curve and the clip point blade.Bird's head pommel and the scabbard retains its original frog attachment. This one is strongly marked on the top edge of the blade 3 Va Reg as shown in photo #5.Steel hilt has no issues.Grip is leather and in great condition as shown in the photos. Blade has clip point and is 36" and is bright with some staining but overall is in much better condition than normally seen.Iron scabbard is 36" and is in great condition with frog stud and original paint.Please consider all pictures an extension of the description of this rare piece.Paypal only, No international shipping, No returns.
