This piece measures over 3" and shows every color of the spectrum. This is not a floater crystal, ie, this is a flat piece with a solid Bismuth bottom, it sits quite nicely for display. While Bismuth crystals do occur in nature, they are rare and usually microscopic. This piece is lab grown in Germany by melting and cooling pure Bismuth metal. The iridescenct color comes from the oxidation during cooling. It is an artform in growing these, especially large crystals, and the best in the world are known to come from German labs.
