Bismuth Size: 4.16" x 2.65" x 1" 106mm x 67mm x 25mm Weight: 6.54 oz 185 grams Location: Germany Iridescent rainbows of color on these hoppered Bismuth crystals grown in Germany. This piece measures over 4.1" and shows every color of the spectrum. While Bismuth crystals do occur in nature, they are rare and usually microscopic. This piece is lab grown in Germany by melting and cooling pure Bismuth metal. The iridescenct color comes from the oxidation during cooling. It is an artform in growing these, especially large crystals, and the best in the world are known to come from German labs. Note: This is my final Bismuth specimen for auction for awhile. My German dealer informed me that the price of Bismuth has more than doubled and these will be unavailable for awhile.
