3 Circuit, Tri-Color, Looks Great This is a Vintage Three Circuit Variometer Coupler, Tickler, Tuning Coil. It features two stator coils and a rotor coil, wound with cloth covered copper wire on gloss Bakelite forms. Each of the three coils is isolated from the others and has independent thumbscrew terminals, allowing versatility in how they are connected. One stator coil is for tuning, while the other is a coupling coil to the next or previous stage. The rotor coil can be used with the stator coil as a variometer, or independently as a tickler or loose coupler coil. This unit can be panel mounted or surface mounted using the versatile mounting bracket. The tuning coil measures 180 uH, and would use a 500 pF tuning condenser for the broadcast band. A smaller tuning condenser would tune short wave. Overall size is 4âeW x 4âeH x 4âeD behind panel This assembly is in excellent condition with no evidence that it was ever used. This makes a great display with its contrasting colors. It will make a very nice tuner for a crystal radio or can be used as a front end on a regenerative receiver or other project set.
