This auction is for 32 pieces of beautifully made of Gorham fine china. This auction is for two (2) separate boxes. Each box contains 4 place settings. These settings include 1 footed cup, 1 saucer, 1 salad plate and 1 dinner plate. From their Museum Collection, this very pretty pattern is called Spring Laurel. A lovely floral design on pale blue, each piece is edged in gold. This set belonged to my late mother, recently found in an over packed garage, and was apparently purchased but never used. Although this design is listed in Replacements as in effect from 1984 through 1988, the box is for Shreve & Co. in San Francisco, the customer receipt on the box indicates they were purchased in March of 1983 through Macy's department store. It does not appear that the china from either box was ever removed from its original packaging. The approximate sizes of these pieces are: : Footed Cup 2-1/8 inches high 3-3/4 inches in diameter at the widest Saucer 6 inches in diameter Dinner Plate 10-3/4 inches in diameter Salad Plate 8-1/2 inches in diameter The pieces are marked on the back 'THE MUSEUM COLLECTION' over a thistle, 'SPRING LAUREL', 'GORHAM', 'EST. 1831', a crest with two lions and a shield, 'FINE CHINA' and 'U.S.A.'.
