PLEASE NOTE: A tentative insurance amount is included in the handling fee. 33 handwritten letters between April 4, 1895 and May 28, 1896 from Ernesto Fabbri to Edith Shepard in very good condition. Most are a few pages long; one is 16 pages and a couple are 1 page. The content usualy manifests his desire, longing and love for her. Most are folded and are 8" x 5". This item related to Edith (Vanderbilt) Shepard Fabbri, along with others, was retrieved in 1963 from a refuse bin outside the Plaza Auction Gallery on East 79th St NYC and stored by the unknown rescuer until now. Edith (Vanderbilt) Shepard Fabbri, the great granddaughter of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt, was born to Margaret Louise Vanderbilt (the daughter of William Henry Vanderbilt) and Elliott F Shepard in 1872. In 1896 she married Ernesto G Fabbri who she had met in Italy while traveling through Europe with her mother. She had 2 children: Teresa Fabbri who was born in 1897 and Ernesto G Jr who was born in 1900 and died in 1909 from appendicitis. Edith and Ernesto Fabbri were divorced in 1923. She never remarried and died in 1954. Ernesto G Fabbri was the son Of Ernesto G Fabbri, senior partner of Drexel Morgan & Co and an American mother.
