See pictures for details as part of description.Measures:4.36" tall2.58" wide2.48" deepThis is a vintage beautiful larger example of a high quality hand coiled Santa Clara Native American Dog fetish /effigy pottery sculpture by award winning Santa Clara pottery artists Margaret and Luther Gutierrez, circa 1970s.Hallmarked by the famous Santa Clara potters.Margaret Gutierrez (born 1936) and Luther Gutierrez (1911-1987) were brother and sister potters from the Santa Clara Pueblo, NM. They continued their polychrome painting made famous by their parents Lela and Van Gutierrez. They began making pottery together in the 1960s.Margaret and Luther painted unique color combinations on their bowls, jars and wedding vases with designs including the Avanyu (water serpent), rain, clouds and lightning and sky bands. In the 1970s they began making their original polychrome caricatures of animals and other smaller figures.
