A Tribute to Chris LeDoux 11/02/07 and 11/03/07~ Memorabilia from the Art Show, Sanctioned PRCA Rodeo, and Clay Walker Concert ~ Casper, Wyoming Up for auction is memorabilia from the 3rd annual "A Tribute to Chris LeDoux" held in Casper, Wyoming November 2nd and 3rd, 2007. The weekend LeDoux Tribute memorabilia includes a 19 minute tribute DVD (new in 2007), a flyer from the Art Show, a program and ticket stub from the sanctioned PRCA Rodeo and live Clay Walker Concert , a program insert for the rodeo, and a Wyoming W Freedom Rides Decal. The memorabilia was purchased or obtained that weekend except the decal. The DVD (video), "A Tribute to Chris LeDoux" (October 2 1948 - March 9, 2005), begins with the beautiful countryside near Kaycee, Wyoming. The LeDoux Ranch is near Kaycee. This well-done tribute features live interviews with Chris LeDoux as well as snippets of his high energy musical performances. He speaks of his beginning rodeo days, being on the rodeo team at Casper College, rodeoing at Cheyenne Frontier Days and his music and his life. In other segments, The Back Stage Story & Free to Roam, Mark Sissel (Road Manager & musician) gives an interview. Mark, Accompanied by Western Underground sings the song he wrote about Chris, "King of Wyoming". Look closely and you'll see Ned LeDoux on the drums. Running time 19 minutes. Sponsored by Wyoming Travel and Tourism. Note: This 2007 version contains some footage that was in the 2006 version. About 10 minutes of it is new/different. The 36 page black and white program sports a full color cover and includes at least 20 photos of Chris (rodeo action and concert). A portion of the back cover reads, "Not long after dismounting bareback horse Bear Sign, Beau LeDoux reached into his shirt pocket, pulled out a small bag of his father's ashes and poured them on the arena floor." ... "It was something my family and I thought would be right to do because this was such a special rodeo to him, Beau LeDoux said." Clay Walker gave an awesome concert following the rodeo on November 3, 2007. The rodeo was sold out and standing room only tickets were available for the concert only. The program comes with an insert that lists all the rodeo contestants. Measures 8 1/2" X 11" The ticket was admission to the PRCA Rodeo and Clay Walker Concert. It is missing the original bottom part of the stub because it was admission to the event (the row and seat number on the ticket will be different than the one in the photo). Clay Walker, played the entire concert Saturday night, November 3, 2007, at THE ARENA, Central Wyoming Fairgrounds, Casper, Wyoming. The Art Show program/flyer featuring a Wyoming scene "A Tribute to Chris LeDoux" November 2, 2007, measures 8 1/2" X 11". The flyer from the Art Show includes the 7 artists who were selected by special invitation to exhibit. Most of their work was available for purchase. The show featured photographs of Chris's rodeo and ranch life. Chris's artwork was also on display from a private collection, but wasn't for sale. The Wyoming W Freedom Rides (TM) decal was purchased from one of the artists who exhibited at the first "A Tribute to Chris LeDoux, Western Art Show PRCA Rodeo and Concert" in 2005. This unique decal measures 7" X 4 1/2". Adhesive is on the back side. The bucking horse certainly is a "Wyoming logo".
