Description Item Specifics - Item Condition Condition: New TALAVERA POTTERY DRAWER KNOB/PULL This is for 4 knobs. 1-7/8" diameter. Each one is individually handmade and handpainted. Most sites charge $10 a knob. Try finding these at Home Depot Expo and if you can you have a 6 week wait while these are made. This is a real deal. 1-7/8" diameter Screw is 1-1/8" long Talavera making is a long and laborious process undertaken by skillful Mexican artisans. This is NOT painted on plastic or glass..this is the real deal...the real Talavera from Mexico w I go every month on a buying trip to find the best and most unique items. Please see other Talavera items thru the red door to my ebay store! The first step is to obtain the appropriate clay to be transformed into a desired form. The clay used is obtained from the countryside hills mines nearby Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato. Once the clay is obtained, it is ground and placed in containers, or piletas , to be soaked in water. It is left for several days until it acquires the consistency to be kneaded by hand or feet. A lump of clay is transformed into a desired shape manually on a potters wheel or with a mold and then left to dry for several days. These knobs are molded and painted by hand.
