Large lot of 70+ Antique glass magic lantern slides Really funny and interesting images. I tried to find the correct description and time period of these slides but can't say with any certainty. The only ones I've been able to find that are similar have been from the mid to late 1800's into the early 1900's, some being hand painted. I simply don't know how to tell but those of you who are interested will be able to identify them readily, I'm sure. I've tried to show a representative sampling of them of the different slides. T are over 70 slides depicting illustrated comedic story lines, whimsical wild and anthropomorphic animals, scenes of village life, ships, buildings, foreign lands/culture scenes, and just plain silliness. Overall, they're in pretty good shape. They range in condition with some scratches, wear to paint or borders, scuffs and soiling. I don't think any of them are broken. (I did not carefully check each one, however.) Please ask if you need specifics on any one. The slides all have one side that feels smooth and relatively clean and an opposite side that has a slight texture to it (the painted side?) and seems much more soiled, almost slightly tacky. I didn't want to try to clean them. They measure 5 1/8" x 1 3/8" and have a blue paper border. Some are formatted with 5 distinct circles and a different image
