1/700 scale waterline resin ship model with brass photo-etch details by Loose Cannon of a WWII Victory Cargo Ship. The Victory ship model is the WWII armed civilian version of this famous design. The kit consists of a resin hull and parts with a large brass photo etch sheet & instructions. The parts are cast in a soft styrene-like gray resin.. The kit is based on drawings of the Victory Ship as built, with many details taken from photographs and the still existing Victory Ship RED OAK VICTORY moored in Tampa FL. The kit is complete; all the modeler need add is glue & paint. The hull measures just over 7 3/4" long. Deck details such as cargo hatches, bollards, winches and lower superstructure are cast onto the hull. The Brass PE fret has railings, supports for the various platforms, 20MM gun shields, tackle for the cargo booms, and boat davits. Brass rod is provided for the cargo booms and topmasts. Complete assembly & painting instructions are also included. Glue and paint are not included. The Victory ship was a type of cargo ship produced in large numbers by North American shipyards during World War II to replace shipping losses caused by German submarines.
