NO RESERVE. We're offering here a beautifully detailed set of four 1/700 scale Yak-28P fighters that have just come out of the 3D printer! Codenamed "Firebar" by NATO, the Yak-28P was the all-weather long range interceptor version of the Yak-28B/L/I tactical bomber. The Yak-28P first entered service with VVS units in 1964. The Yak-28 continued service until the early 1980's. While the models offered here are actually the fighter version of the Yak-28 series, it should be easy to use these as the base to create any of the various bomber, reconnaissance or electronic warfare versions of this "28" series Yak. To our knowledge the Yak-28 has never been offered in this scale. Unfortunately, production of relatively esoteric aircraft like the Yak-28 (particularly in 1/700 scale!) are just too costly given the relatively small size of the audience. We think that these beauties easily rival (and probably exceed) the quality of comparable WEM resin and Pitroad white metal products but we've posted some high resolution photos so you can judge for yourself. While the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene.
