Transcontinental Railroad 75 Anniversary Spike Paperweight issued in 1944Solid brass spike was issued to replicate the "Last Spike" or "Golden Spike"driven at Promontory Summit, Utah May 1869 as part of the 75th Anniversary in 1944.It was a gift to my grandfather, who was a "railroad man" and during his career had working relationshipswith both The Western Pacific Railroad Company and The Central Pacific Railroad Company of California.In the photos I've included his business card and family rail pass.The spike paperweight is 5.5 inches long and weighs 8 oz.Please see all photos for details.
