Up for auction is a very nice Native American coil basket. I purchased this basket at the O'Odham Tash Festival in Casa Grande, Arizona about 17 years ago. I always thought it was Pima or Papago, but a similar item listed on eBay stated it is Hopi influenced. The top coil is braided and the rest are more woven in appearance. The colors outlining the star are brown and brick red or burnt orange. It is approx. 8 1/2 inches across. Thank you for considering this item. I am not claiming this to be an ancient artifact, but simply a very nice basket made by Native American's for the O'Odham Tash Festival.
