MINT CONDITION AUTHENTIC CHINESE HANDMADE & SCULPTED MONKEY TEA SET. This set comes w/ a beautiful teapot & matching 4 saucers and 4 cups. Purchased in Beijing, early 1990s. The details: Made of clay Monkey/Leaves/Tree motif is repeated throughout the pot. All of this is handmade. The tea cups are also highly detailed with a beautiful monkey serving as a handle, while the saucers are simple and functional. The back of the teapot is inscribed with a proverb which, loosely translated states: "Most people" have the same interests & meditation to long life/longevity. [The term "most people" can refer to several groups - the academics/intelligent people, wealthy people, or those most respected .] Approx.
