An Early, Apple Basket in a Wonderful Sunflower Yellow Paint. This lovely basket came from a Maine farm. The farm ceased operation around 1900. The better baskets were cleaned, painted and utilized for household chores . It was at this time that this particular basket was painted in this striking sunflower yellow color. Structurally, it is in near mint condition. Interestingly, in the early 1900s these baskets were of little interest to the collector. Today, however, they are fewer in number; given the paint and good condition this is a premium piece.
