Description: Three (3) SIGNED HAWKES âeoeHollandâe wine glasses. Lovely and uncommon rayed star on the base (see photo); zippered/fluted 6-sided stem; 3 large hobstars on the bowl flanked by a double set of smaller hobstars; fans; rays; miter cuts, cross-hatched lozenges. T is an enormous amount of cutting in a relatively small space! Size: Roughly 4 1⁄2âe tall by 2 1⁄2âe at the widest point. Unlike contemporary wine glasses, this size of glass fits very comfortably in oneâe(tm)s hand. Condition: Good. However, since these are old glasses, all three show signs of use. T is some minor expected surface wear on the bottom w the glasses sit on the table. The rims of all three are perfect, without any chips or fleabites. No chips anyw; only one fleabite seen. The exterior shows surface crazing. Signature: Two are marked with HAWKES in bold letters on the base. See photo. The third glass appears unmarked. Blank: Sparkling and highly reflective. Shipping: I prefer shipping UPS because of the unpredictable nature of the Chicago Post Office, which was rated the worst service in the country. Since insurance is required with glass purchases, the difference in price between USPS and UPS is negligible, and UPS is much more reliable.
