Abraham Lincoln Oval Colorized 1863 Gettysburg Portrait Wood & Plaster FrameDESCRIPTION There are cracks to the wood, there is some red "putty" repair on one of the leaves, the backing paper has rips on the edges, there are some red "putty" repairs on the edges, there is wear to the plaster edges on the inside edge and the outer edge. Please view the pictures for greater detail. The Frame measures 18 1/4" x 15 1/4"This a print, I don't know when it was made. It appears that it dates to 1890s - 1910sThis print of Abraham Lincoln's portrait was taken in Alexander Gardner's studio on November 8, 1863 most likely taken by Moses P. Rice, one of Gardner?s studio photographers. Lincoln sat for this photograph just 11 days before delivering the Gettysburg Address. It is sometimes referred to as the "Gettysburg portrait," although it was actually taken in Washington.
