I have for sale a Charge Coin from the Abraham & Straus store that was in Brooklyn, New York. Charge coins are the forerunners of our current credit cards. They were issued by department stores, hotels, taxi companies, etc. from the early 1900's into the 1950's. The coin looks to be made of nickel, it is 1 3/4 inch long and in circulated condition. It has a hole at one end for attachment on a key ring or possibly a necklace. One side reads FINDER PLEASE RETURN - TO - ABRAHAM & STRAUS - BROOKLYN, N.Y. The other side reads ABRAHAM - STRAUS with the number 18547L in the center. Please see more in my EBAY STORE at TE COLLECTABLES. (14,429)
