Excellent early executed C.V.M. vase. Rare acid sign. Nice colour and shape. OLd pontil. The piece stands 6 1/3 inches (16 cm high) Excellent condition. NO crack on handles! The company Cappellin Venini & Co. was founded in the year 1921 and already dissolved in 1925. Instead the companies Maestri Vetrai Muranese - Cappellin & Co (see the next description) and the still well-known Venini Zweig (Vetri Soffiati Muranese Venini & C. (V.S.M.)) took the place and Napoleone Martinuzzi found employment as art director. M.V.M. Cappellin Maestri Vetrai Muranese - Cappelin & Co. Also in 1925 the company M.V.M. Cappellin Maestri Vetrai Muranese - Cappellin & Co. was founded by Giacomo Cappellin, Rafaello Levi and some glassblower, who were employed at C.V.M. Vittorio Zecchin, who was the art director at Cappellin Venini & Co., also took over the position as the art director in this newly founded company. The trademark of Cappellin Venini & Co., which means the production of novel fine Soffiati glass, was taken over almost as it was. For this reason the listed Soffiati glass in the Venini catalogue mostly can not be exactly assigned to the accruement of the glassworks, which means Cappellin Venini & Co. or M.V.M Cappellin.
