Here we offer an Ackroyd & Best Hailwoods Improved Lamp - No. 529 / Type 01. It is a steel and brass lamp measuring 28cm tall to the top of the hook ring and 8.5cm diameter across the base. The glass globe is original Bristol blue. Ackroyd and Best Ltd. traded under this name until 1927. This is a heavy, beautifully machined solid brass, iron and glass lamp. The glass chimney is intact and is I am told very rare in that it is of Bristol Blue and not the usual clear glass. When unscrewed from the base the oil reservoir has a small cap missing. The reservoir is stamped Hailwood & Ackroyd Ltd. and the number 1125+. Condition - used / antique / vintage with wear to the metal commensurate with age / use.
