This auction is for a pair of Altec 1568A tube amplifiers. The use 6CA7 (EL-34) tubes as the finals 6CG7 as signal tubes and a 5U4 rectifier. The are rated at 40 watts but are capable of 50 watts. These are rack mounted and operated on 120 volts. I have tested the power transformers by actually powering them up but with out a rectifier in place. AC voltages were correct. I tested the outputs with a signal generator and ohm meter and they are fine. No further testing was done. You may be able to save the capacitors if you bring them up slow. I am sure I pulled these when they were operational but they have spent some time on the shelf. There are some scuffs on the face plate, and a little surface rust on the shells of the transformers. They were never subject to any moisture. All parts are original. Also included are tubes. I have 4 6CA7 that are thin and marked Great Britain they have brown bases. I believe one or two are branded RCA but believe that they are Mullards. The other tubes are GE RCA and are rectifiers I do not have any 6CG7 drivers. I am assuming some work may need to be done to bring these back to spec but they are a good foundation for a fine pair of amplifiers.I will ship them separately so please double the freight in the calculator. I have listed another pair of tube amps in a separate auction so please take a look read more
