ALUMINUM TRACK OR FIXED COG Machined from 7075-T651 which is considered "aircraft grade" aluminum because of its high material properties. Made in the USA on a sprocket shaper (which is considered by many to produce the most accurate tooth form). The teeth are progressively shaped by a matching cutter sprocket tool. This is NOT a cheap stamped out or CNC'd cog! The size is 15 teeth by 1/8" is to be used on 1/8" chain and is designed for "English" hub threading. Finishing is by hard anodizing which produces a very hard and durable oxide surface. The gold color resuts from the hard anodizing of 7075 alloy. (Anodizing of pretty colors is done with dyeing softer and more porous aluminum alloy surfaces) This cog weighs only 20 grams! 14 and 16 tooth cogs are also available.
