THIS IS #2 of 2 chairs ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! CARVED WOOD AND CARVED ENAMEL CINNABAR ROSEWOOD ANTIQUE VICTORIAN CHINESE CHAIR This is a wonderful chair with hand carved rosewood scroll floral forms ! It is COMPLETELY decorated either with carvingsor CARVED enamel paint if you look closely you can see w the gold gilt gilded gold leaf forms the thin lines in the paint this is an INCREDIBLE ESTATE piece !!! Probably made around 1880s 1900s to coincide with the victorian love of chinoiserie but i think this was made for the chinese market and is not an export market t are dragons like in the dragon court robe that were worn in the ching qing dynasty t peonies lotus chinese swatikas which means fu or goodluck the seat is painted and carved butterflies butterfly and a large chrysanthemum and foliage has a wonderful red wood that glows with a blond hue has a satin finish t are also carved dragons around the seat this is a fantastic piece!! . t re scratches, paint loss chips can be refinished I bought this from a butterfields estate auction from SF it is in FAIR - GOOD antique condition some parts are exquisite and other pieces need restoring as seen in the pix I can always email more pix It is still an extravagant piece fin de siecle era currently in Tempe AZ it could possibly be from japan japanese but asian nonetheless--looks chinese to me maybe a little goth gothic ...t are also brass carved feet protectors ( in picture) Id say art nouveau more than art deco because of the nature buyer must provide shipping transportation I suggest they do blanket wrap and are reasonable in their pricing They also give free quotes online...go to their website and plug in the #s ...... 40"H x 24"W x 19"D I think DHL may also be used to ship this Also we are listing the desk separately equally fantastic!!we accept paypal and MO only no checks...
