For your consideration is this Ticuna Indian Jaguar Mask from the Amazonian region of Brazil. The Jaguar head is carved from balsa wood and painted. There is an empty carved space for one canine tooth. I don't know if there is some ritual significance for this. Doesn't appear that there was ever anything inserted in the space. There is also a natural hole in the wood visible from the top of the jaguar head. The hood portion is made of beaten bark and painted. The head measures 8" long, 5" deep, and 4.25" wide. The hood is 16" long and 13.5" wide.I ship to the US only.
