The composition of this painting is superb and the present lot is a wonderful example of the work of this important landscape painter. The painting is signed lower right and inscribed verso.Turner's work is highly collectible realising thousands of pounds at auction. Please see the snapshots of auction results in the photograph section of this listing. Condition The painting is in very fine condition; there is a small puncture to the canvas upper right with a small area of corresponding touching in, the painting would benefit from a light clean. The painting is presented in a later giltwood frame which is in good condition with minor losses. Artist Information George Turner was born in Cromford, Derbyshire in 1843. He lived for some years in Barrow-on-Trent and Idrigehay. He specialised
