In this auction we have an American Flyer # 470, 471, and 473 ABA Chrome Sante Fe Diesel. This is the 1953 version of the Sante Fe Diesel. The 473 Dummy "A" unit has scratches, chips and mud cracking on the nose. There is also some very minor rust on the edge of the chassis. The trucks and couplers are good and the unit has all four steps. The headlight worked when tested and the decals are fully intact. A complete unit that has a decent appearance and grades Very Good . The 471 Dummy "B" unit has lots of scratches, chips and some rust on the chassis. Also has two small chrome tape patches on the roof and side, same end. The trucks and couplers are good and the unit has all four steps. The horn was tested and works fine. Unit grades Fair/Good . The 470 Power "A" unit has some scratches, minor chips and very minor mud cracking on the nose. The decals are 98% intact and the chassis, trucks and couplers are good. The unit has all four corner steps and the headlight worked when tested. The engine was track tested and runs very nice. The reverse unit also works well and doesn't stick. The power unit has a very nice overall appearance and grades Excellent Minus. These trains come from a non-smokers home.
