Up for auction are five American Flyer Gilbert era prewar freight cars that are in poor condition and might be candidates for restor ation. All five cars have a considerable number of chips and scratches throughout their painted finishes. The tank car and the milk c ontainer car have been at least partially repainted. Likewise, the roof on the box car has been repainted. The caboose is missing some grab irons and as you can see in the sixth photo, one coupler is broken off. The lumber car has had its link coupler replaced with a hook coupler that I believe allowed the owner to use this as a conversion car allowing him to mix newer link couplers with earlier equipment I am also selling this week.
