Ames 1871 Springfield Armory Navy Rolling Block Bayonet Yu are bidding on an original bayonet and scabbard for the US M1870 Springfield Armory Navy Rolling Block Rifle. The blade is in very fine shape stamped U.S.N. 1871 G.G.S and AMES MFG CO CHICOPEE MASS. some of the Ames has worn off. Brass handle is in very nice condition having a fish scale grip, it is missing the lock bar. Back of pommel has cut out to allow the cleaning rod to go through it when being mounted. The muzzle ring diameter measures approximately 21 mm. The leather scabbard is in very fine shape The scabbard fits bayonet perfect. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ !! If you have any ???
