You are bidding on an M1870, Ames USN sword bayonet. The bayonet is for the Navy Remington rolling block rifle. The bayonet is 24 7/8 inches with the straight blade being 20 3/16 inch. The blade is marked AMES Mfg Co. Chicopee, MASS. The other side is marked USN G.G.S. 1870. The blade has a bright metal finish, but there are some stains. The double edge straight blade has the factory dull edge. The grip is brass. It has the Navy Ordnance logo on both sides. It is also marked G.G.S. in front of the bayonet lug groove and J.G.B. on the end of the pommel. The hilt has a small S.There is NO scabbard.Win multiple auctions and I will combine them so you save on shipping. Please wait to pay until I send an invoice for multiple items.
