The Pieta, replica by A. Santini This is a statue by Angelo Santini and is a copy of Michaelangelo's famous work "The Pieta". It depicts the Virgin Mary hold her son, Jesus, after He has been taken down from the cross. This statue is made of a combination of alabaster and resin. It is stamped A. Santini. on the base in the back. It has a label on the bottom which says "Sculptor A. Santini, Classic Figure, Made in Italy" It also has an image of someone driving a Roman chariot. I have tried to take a photo of this label, but it did not come out well. T are no chips or cracks on this piece. This is a small statue, please read the dimensions carefully.
