Rare Anthony Shaw Eight-Sided Tea Leaf Ironstone Nappies, Set of 4, Reg. 1884 Description Welcome to this listing. We are very pleased to offer a set of four eight-sided tea leaf ironstone nappies by the English firm of Anthony Shaw. These nappies, although they are eight-sided, are part of the Hexagon body style, which was registered in 1884. Each bears the black Crown mark which states “Opaque Stone China, Trade Mark, Anthony Shaw & Son, England.” Each nappie is 4 7/8” in diameter and has a gleaming white glaze. Three have a copper lustre tea leaf and banding and the fourth has a tea leaf and banding in a lovely coordinating shade of brown. The nappies are free of chips, cracks, discoloration, and restoration. One nappie has a tiny pinhead flake along the exterior of the rim, and another nappie has a 1” penetrating hairline perpendicular to the rim. Crazing, which is common to ironstone, is present. These nappies would make a great addition to any tea leaf ironstone collection, particularly one which focuses on Anthony Shaw’s Hexagon body style. The nappies are perfect for individual servings of dips, pudding, applesauce, and small snacks. We invite you to bid on this auction lot which has been pre-packed to assure (1) prompt shipment and (2) accurate weight information for USPS shipping and handling fees to the United States,
