Here for your pleasure is a large pantry box with fabulous patina! In my opinion, this box is in far better condition that two nearly identical ones that sold very recently in this price range. The pantry box measures 9-7/8" diameter across the lid and is 5.5" high with lid. Its condition is even more beautiful: sturdy and tight: lid and bottom. There is a rough spot along bottom edge where a repair has been made, but again, all is tight, tight. The nails at the joint appear to be hand-crafted copper. There is a tag on the bottom with the name "Jane James". A Google search shows the below information for a Connecticut Jane James (this box is from an estate sale in Essex,Ct.collectors/dealers (almost horders)).
