Thank you for shopping with us. Antique 14K Faceted Pink Sapphire Rose Gold Band Ring This is an unusual ring. The rose gold band has patterned shoulders. The opaque stone is an oval faceted medium pink sapphire (slightly too light in color to be a ruby). The stone appears to be original. All gold alloys used in jewelry (regardless of color) contain some copper along with gold and a few other metals. If the copper content is relatively high, the color of the gold will be pinkish with the exact color depending on the amount of copper in the mixture. I would describe the color of this ring as light to medium pink. If you place it beside a piece of yellow gold, you can see a definite pink cast, but it is not an extremely strong pink. This ring is unmarked (mark either worn away or removed in sizing) but tests as 14K with acid and a stone. With the current record price of gold, this piece is very reasonably priced. Inv #14633 .
